Buccaneer Bay’s looking great!
Looking out of the window and it’s raining again, can’t believe it, who forgot to put some change in the sunshine meter. Very busy at work now, went over to Newquay to see for myself the new style ‘Buccaneer Bay’ and take in the experience of the ‘Sunken Village of the Damned’. It looks excellent as you arrive outside with the building newly painted and my picture of Calico Jack standing there in all his glory, about twenty feet high on the building. Then the ‘Buccaneer Bay’ Lettering stands out really well!
When you begin your journey through the attraction, feeling excited at the prospect of being scared at any moment, but not knowing when and how, you’re greeted by a jolly female pirate. She brings to life many of the legends and tales of old Cornwall and the pirate days. Then you pass by the dungeon where it’s said that to enter is to at your own risk and many scary things do happen in these dark and smokey cells. I was too frightened to go in yesterday, but a close friend told me of their experience so I think I’m gonna go back for another visit and pluck up the courage to go in again, it does sound wicked! I think Mike and Margaret have got a real winner on their hands!
Any way after my trip to Newquay, I’ve got a lovely leaflet to put together for Buccaneer Bay. Lots of pics of pirates and treasure maps to play with, can’t wait. Then Paul is coming over to do a sales sheet for The Big Man’s Shop. Spiral Construction were delighted with my design for their web site, so that’s gone for programming via Net Insight, be nice to get some more work through them. I’ve also got a load of concepts to do for Oxford Innovations next week, which will include some full size cartoons of the various presenters.
THF have asked me to design another brochure for a further housing development in Camelford. So pretty stacked for the next few weeks.
Went to see U2 the other evening in Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, they were breathtaking, the sound was fabulous and the 88,000 crowd were unforgettable. Our band have a gig in Falmouth Football Club this Saturday, we’ll proably play to about a hundred people. What I would give to play in front of a crowd as big as U2 did. Must be so good, ah well that’s another life!
Haven’t seen the the biker mob in Carharrack for a few days, but I will try and visit some time this week, I’m just a bit busy and I am cycling at the moment, so I’ve got to wait until I have the car.
I started a new painting. It’s a buzzard with it’s kill (a rabbit). It will make a lovely painting, not to everyones taste, but I’ve been wanting to paint a buzzard for years, and I finally found the right image to work from. I will post it once I’ve finished it.
Well I’ve got to get ready for work now, lots to do and band practise tonight, speak soon…
PS I’m trying to work out how to get my paintings into a carousel style viewer instead of the way I’m showing them at the moment. I’ve downloaded the plug in but I need to work out to get the carousel into the page. Should look really good once I’ve done it. Watch this space.
