Great week, lots done!
Hey not a bad week at all. Sorted out my new business plan for the next three years.Gonna grow the business and become one of the foremost graphic design companies in the Southwest. I’m putting together a new marketing strategy to include direct marketing, telesales and internet advertising. Should make a massive difference to enquiries. Joined the business league this week. We have breakfast meetings every Friday. Some good networking going on already.
Have produced a couple of jobs for Oxford Innovations this week, who in turn have recommended me to a couple of new clients. Thanks to Roger Grimshaw for his help and encouragement.
Produced some new style ads for Buccaneer Bay, Newquay’s only scare attraction. Looking forward to seeing how they get on this season, it;s looking to be very exciting. Going to design the graphics for their pick up truck next week.
Starting work on the Big Man’s Shop Spring Summer brochure next week. Really looking forward to that as it involves photography and re touching.
Have some nice work for Easylearn who produce interactive learning material for school kids. They want me to colour up a stack illustrations and turn them into interactive animations. Hey it’s nice to have so much varied work.
Still got loads of stuff to ad to my website, but it’s starting to come together now.
It’s so funny, over the years I’ve produce some much really exciting work. But I just don’t have record of it now. I used to produce some lovely packaging design for a company in London called Gala who produce tea and coffee packs. I did loads of great packs for them. I don’t know if you remember the first double decker buses in Cornwall that used to go round completely sign written all over. I designed and painted all the original Pirate FM ones, plus the Hall for Cornwall one and also the Eden Project ones when they were first launched.
Now the big thing is websites… a new medium to work in. It’s very exciting and a challenge to bring functionality and design together to create something that thousands of people will get to use. What more could a graphic designer ask for.
My biggest challenge is getting Joe Armstrong Creative Design brand recognition. It’s gonna be a challenge… but I love it!
