The exhibition will consist of 6 large canvasses supported by a selection of 10 smaller detail canvasses. All exploring the ‘Aspects of Autumn’. The theme was inspired by a poem called ‘Merry Autumn’ by Paul Laurence Dunbar.
Joe’s exciting, textural paintings have been grabbing the limelight in art galleries throughout Cornwall, where he has developed quite a following from both art lovers and other artists alike. This rise in popularity led to him being invited by Event Cornwall to take part in the Truro‘s ‘Big Art’ Festival, held in March and more recently ‘Paint the Town Red’ Falmouth. Joe can be seen demonstrating his bold and exciting technique most Saturdays under the shade of a tree, outside Truro cathedral.
“My unique style of painting is inspired by Cornwall’s ever changing scenery, compelling me to paint with fast, dynamic sweeping strokes, using clean bright oil colours and a palette knife instead of a brush”.
If you are a collector of art or just enjoy original paintings by local artist’s, Joe Armstrong is definitely a name to look out for in the future.
