JACD Standard Terms and Conditions

The customer is of the opinion that the Service Provider has the necessary qualifications, experience and abilities to provide services to the Customer.
1b
The Service provider JACD is agreeable to providing such services to the Customer on the terms and conditions as set out in this agreement.
Services Provided

The most cost-effective and speedy way JACD can translate design/artwork requirements is if the customer can provide ideas, copy, photographs and illustrations at the start of the project. JACD will then use their skills to produce up-to-the-minute, quality design and artwork, on time and within the budget agreed. Should the customer be unable to provide the content necessary, or wish to change the style or design thereby increasing the time taken to come to a final version, additional charges, at a rate to be agreed, will become due.

JACD will provide a Quotation prior to starting the work, this will show the stages of work necessary to complete each project together with the hourly rate, costs of materials, and final estimated cost.

If additional costs become necessary during the progress of the project, these will be clarified and agreed with the Customer at the time and be added to the contract value at the Invoice stage.
2d
Customers will be expected to agree to a time schedule for each project, this will be agreed between JACD and the Customer. Any variations to the time schedule once the project has started will be discussed between the parties and mutually agreed. The above terms will be in place from the start date of each project and remain in force until project completion.
Standard Design and Artwork Rates

Design charged at £60 per hour – Artwork charged at £40 per hour.
3b
There is no VAT applicable on work undertaken by JACD.
Payment of Invoices
4a
Projects valued at under £100 will be invoiced when the work is completed.
4b
Projects valued over £100 will be invoiced at each agreed stage.
4c
Invoices are to be paid within 48 hours or 2 working days from date of invoice, into JACD nominated bank account – details at the bottom of each invoice.
4d
Any discounts, if agreed, will be on the basis of settlement by the terms agreed. If an invoice is not paid by the agreed terms then the invoice will become due at the full hourly rate shown in Standard Design and Artwork Rates above. 4e Property will be transferred to the customer on settlement of final invoice.
Branding and Logo Design Stages
Providing an estimate has been accepted by a customer and JACD has been asked to proceed, JACD will provide the following services:
Stage 1
Initial concept will be undertaken by JACD in the form of Hand-Drawn b/w thumbnail sketches. These rough concept ideas will be either supplied to customers as pdfs or as digital laser proofs. The customer will agree to give feedback within 48 hours to allow JACD to continue with Stage 2. If a customer does not come back within 1 week after receiving pdfs or lasers, unless otherwise agreed stage 1 may be invoiced as I don’t want to go hungry!
Stage 2
After discussion with customers using rough ideas from Stage 1, agreed ideas will be worked up on the computer to establish font and graphics styles required at this stage. Colours will be used to demonstrate how the brand or logo might appear, but are not final at this stage. These rough concepts will be supplied to customers as pdfs or as digital laser proofs. The customer will agree to give feedback within 48 hours to allow JACD to continue with Stage 3. If a customer does not come back within 1 week after receiving pdfs or lasers, unless otherwise agreed stage 2 may be invoiced as I don’t want to go hungry!
Stage 3
Once graphic and font style are approved, the chosen logo will be shown in various colour and b/w options. These rough concept ideas will be either supplied to customers as pdfs or as digital laser proofs. The customer will agree to give feedback or final approval within 48 hours to allow JACD to complete the job. If a customer does not come back within 1 week after receiving pdfs or lasers, JACD will invoice for the time spent on Stage 3. Once final approval has been given by the customer JACD will supply the logo or brand in a format specified by the customer. The new logo or brand only becomes the customers property and must not be used until after the agreed fee for the work has been paid in full.
Design, Artwork for Web, Printed Media and Advertising Stages Providing an estimate has been accepted by a customer and JACD has been asked to proceed, JACD will provide the following services: Stage 1 Initial design, artwork, illustrations and photoshop work will be produced on the computer, colour proofs will be supplied as either pdfs or digital laser proofs. The customer will agree to give feedback within 48 hours to allow JACD to continue with Stage 2. If a customer does not come back within 1 week after receiving pdfs or lasers, unless otherwise agreed stage 1 may be invoiced as I don’t want to go hungry! Stage 2 Any necessary amendments will be made to complete the work. One set of amendments will be included in the price of each job free of charge. Any subsequent amendments that are the clients responsibility be charged as extra work at the agreed hourly rate. Work will be supplied as pdfs or digital laser proofs. The customer will agree to sign off the work within 48 hours. If the client does not come back within 1 week of receiving the pdfs or digital proofs, unless otherwise agreed stage 2 may be invoiced as I don’t want to go hungry!
